HELP… I can't fall asleep and am always tired!?
Hi everyone,
I have a horrible problem with not being able to fall asleep, and always being really tired when I’m awake through the day. This has been going on for about 8 years now but has really peaked now to a point that I’ve had to take unpaid holidays from work (for 6 months now) and I’m still not getting over this!!! I’ve suffered from depression because I’m totally sleep deprived and I’ve seen multiply doctors who haven’t really helped at all… I’ve tried strong sleeping tablets prescribed by the doctor and I ended up taking 3 x the the stronger than normal dosage to sleep, when the doctor found out he freaked out and took them off me saying "I should be dead with that dosage!"
I’ve tried dark rooms, reading books, writing all my thoughts on a piece of paper next to the bed, valium, natural remedies, sleeping tunes, huge amounts of exercise but nothing F*#KEN works!!!!
It’s so bad now i sleep on the lounge most nights because my wife needs to sleep so she can work in the morning and i end up falling asleep to the tv about 3-4am every F*#KEN night! I used to be a tradesman so I had to get up at 5:30am which means I’ve survived on 1.5 to2.5 hours sleep a night for the last 8 years!
No matter how exhausted I am and my body just aches from exhaustion I just can’t fall asleep!
We’ve just found out that we have a baby on the way and I really need to get back to some sorta work, somebody PLEASE HELP ME CAUSE I’M AT MY WITS END!!!!!!
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE CAUSE THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM
Thanks Carly, I’ve tried 4 different doctors so far…. What do you think about hypnotherapy?

When you go to bed . . . close your eyes and imagine yourself sleeping. Hypnotise your brain baby.

sounds like you’re an insomniac. go to the doctor again; just because one doctor didn’t help you doesn’t mean that you can’t get a second opinion. try looking on the internet for some information on the symptoms you have try to find out a bit more about it. you must be stressed about something. you might not know what but it’s in your subconscious

night terrors. please help :|?
iv done a little reserch on the internet and i think i may have parasomnia (night terrors). iv woke up (well kind of) in the middle of the night in panic. id scream, shout, walk about and see things. but im almost sure im still asleep because sometimes i remember it and sometimes i dont. the other week i remember waking from my sleep, my heart was beating so fast and i was in alot of distress. i thought i could see lots of spiders on my floor. so i stood up and froze for about 2 mins, just rocking backwards and forwards wispering ‘oh my god, oh my god’ then i started screaming and ran out of my room. after calming down i just simply got back in bed. im almost sure im kinda in a sleep-awake state. iv been doing this since i can remember but their becoming more often and getting worse. im a 16 year old girl. pretty crazy life style. school in the weekdays but i party alot on the weekends. i went throu a stage of depression a few years ago but i beat it. i dont think im stressed but family life is not good as my mother and father dont like my lifestyle, my father cant be around me anymore and my mother, i think is about to crack with me. i was sexually abused as a little girl but i dont think this is causing my night terrors. i just dont know why i have these night terrors. im getting really scared to sleep. its starting to get me down. can anyone give me information please? thank you x

your parents don’t like your lifestyle?
if your taking any drugs of any kind then i would suggest that this might be the problem (remember booze is classed as a drug) perhaps your not getting enough sleep if your out every weekend at a party.

You might have stuff but to be honest people who research there symptoms always wind up thinking they have something

you say you party, and I don’t want to assume, but if you do drugs it could be the cause of your problems

if not, a lot of people get night terrors because they have asthma and dont know it.

asthma can lead to sleep apnea, which causes you to quickly lose your breath, then you start panicking

you should go to a doctor and talk about stress and your sleeping habits

good luck

i fuckin hate spiders sorry i dont know much about this stuff but i do know that there are different stages of sleep and the transition between those stages can cause problems. get some NyQuil it will help you sleep and could help those transitions, also make sure your ambiotic rythme is in sync so go to bed and get up at the same time everyday even on weekends, see if that helps
