Your favorite Star Trek movie quote?
Mine are "Admiral, there be whales here!" Scotty in Star Trek IV The Voyage home.

Also "It was fun…." Kirks dying words in Generations
Homerliv and electric co, Yeah that exchange is classic. In the novel To Reign in Hell, Khan looks up at the sky of his ravaged world where he’s been exiled and swears revenge "Do you hear me Kirk!" When I read it I picture him screaming, Kiiiiiiirrrrrrk!!!!!

"KHHHHHHAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!"

I don’t believe in the no-win scenario.

That green-blooded son of a b—-! It’s his revenge for all those arguments he lost.

I liked all the dialogue in the Wrath of Khan but this exchange was my favorite

Kirk: Khan… Khan, you’ve got Genesis, but you don’t have me. You were going to kill me, Khan. You’re going to have to come down here. You’re going to have to come down here!
Khan: I’ve done far worse than kill you, Admiral. I’ve hurt you. And I wish to go on hurting you. I shall leave you as you left me, as you left her; marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet… buried alive! Buried alive…!
Kirk: KHAAANNNN! (echo)

Star Trek: The Motion Picture

The Motion Picture
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

IMDB rating: 6.20

Plot: A strange cloud descends upon Klingon vessels and eradicates them with an energy bolt. The Epsilon IX space station alerts the Federation, but they too are wiped out by the entity. The starship assigned to the case is, what else, the NCC-1701. That would be the registration number for the U.S.S. Enterprise, which has been rebuilt. Thus, the entire original crew you knew from the TV show returns. Although they are prepared to face the entity, nothing will prepare them for the ride to come. The film asks the question Paul Gauguin asks in a painting bearing this name: “Where do [I] come from? What [am I]? Where [am I] going?” Trekkers, note the appearance of Will Decker, the son of Matt Decker, who killed himself in the TV episode, “The Doomsday Machine”. The film can be summed up in a single word: beautiful.

In search of the best Star Trek films?
Okay, so earlier today I finally finished The Original Series of Star Trek for the very first time, and I have to say, I really loved it. The characters were strong and that’s what had me coming back for more. So, totally excited and ready to see how the crew of The Enterprise was doing, I eagerly placed the dvd of Star Trek: The Motion Picture into my dvd player. And then, I made the fatal mistake of pressing play. Within the first five minutes, my excitement dwindled and I was left thinking throughout the entire film: "Okay, so…I see Kirk. I see Spock. I see McCoy. I even see Uhura, Scotty, and Chekov. But there’s one thing I don’t see: Star Trek. Where the hell did it go?"

So, I now ask…are they all this bad? Have my favorite characters been lost in the special effects and bad storylines, never to be seen again? Where’s Spock and his Lyre and McCoy with his jokes about Spock’s ears and Kirk being a slut? I want those characters back!

So please, list your favorite Trek films from most favorite to least, and please state your reasoning. Thank you!

Oh, side note: If it doesn’t have Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, it’s not Star Trek to me, so please leave out the TNG and others.
No I haven’t seen the newest movie with Zachary Quinto. TOS is my only Star Trek experience so far.

well for me the newest one’s the best

Star Trek IV and Star Trek VI were my favorites.

it’s a shame you don’t like the TNG movies, It is my opinion that "Star Trek: First Contact" is one of the best as far as star trek goes. I’m assuming you’ve seen the new movie that just came out recently? If not you should, It’s got a ton of action and the story brings all the characters together in a pretty interesting way. I went into that movie expecting to be disappointed, but now i can tell you when it hits dvd i’ll be buying it.

Wrath of Khan, In Search of Spock and Journey Home ( ST Movies 2-4) weren’t bad. The first one was all about Oh WOW look the band is back together.

After the whales in Journey Home things start to fall apart again.

You have to remember that TWENTY FIVE YEARS passed between the last Star Trek episode and the movie. Things changed, people changed, what audiences wanted changed.

Watch all the movies, in order, up to Generations. That’s the last one Kirk, Spoke and the others were in. It is also a FABULOUS movie.

For some reason, the even numbered movies are the best!
